Michael Barton owns Indigo Photographic Inc. in the historic district of Batavia, Illinois. Through Indigo, Michael is able to create unique art pieces for and it is the concept that "everyone deserves a great image that will last for generations" that keeps this studio in demand. Michael has published articles and images in The Professional Photographer, Rangefinder, Texas Professional Photographer and other photographic magazines.

Having an unquenchable thirst to create led Michael to complete his Masters degree in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas in 2000. Through Barton's diverse study of humanity he has developed a distinctive love for people, and photography is a chance to give back.

Michael is a Certified Professional Photographer and has his Master of Photography, Master of Electronic Imaging, and Photographic Craftsman Degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. In 2012, Michael was awarded the Educatonal Associate degree From the American Society of Photographers. Michael was a PPA Photographer of the Year from 2008-2011 and was named the PPA North Central District Photographer of the Year.
